This blog will be about stress, and burn-out, and PTSD.
The Axis in the title is the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, a collection of glands / part of the human endocrine system that is central to how we experience, manage, and suffer from stress and trauma.
I'm starting to think that dealing with trauma and stress in the (post-) modern world is one of the most critical wellness issues in North America, perhaps elsewhere as well.
I'm glad that it is more and more on people's radar, but there is still lots of ignorance and apprehension out there.
And I love facts, and have plenty of opinions, so that's what you'll get here on this sort of topic.
